I just found out that us Belgians have our own blog awards next to our excellent chocolates, tasty waffles, superb beer and the best fries in the whole wide world.. web.. euhm. Yes, indeed, French fries should be called Belgian fries really, because you ain’t gonna get them anywhere better than from one of the Belgian frietkotten dammit! If you get them, make sure you get them with mayonnaise or even better, with some nice “stoofvlees“. Seriously, if you’re from the US and you’re like that bloke in Pulp Fiction that’s about to blow that black guy’s head off, don’t put ketchup on it. Try mayonnaise, it’s tasty!
But I was talking about the blog awards right? I wouldn’t know who to vote for really, since I don’t really follow the Belgian blogging scene myself. There’s only one Belgian blog I feed my rss reader with and that’s veerle’s, who also happens to write in English, but that’s about it. Maybe I’ll wait and see who turns out to be the so called best of our little country, and then I’ll have a peek and see what their blogs are all about. I tried out a bunch of blog linked from the awards main site, but most of them turn out to be those typical diary-kind of blogs which don’t really scratch my itch. We’ll see. In the meanwhile, we’ll keep on blogging, and reading, Belgian or not.
